Here’s what to know after your appointment
-
What can I expect after dry needling?
Dry needling is used as a way to create micro-damage within the tissue to jumpstart the healing process. Because of this, it is completely normal to experience soreness or brief worsening of symptoms. This typically lasts 24-48 hours. While this isn’t common, it is completely normal and part of the healing process. Magnesium and epsom salt soaks can help the temporary soreness.

How do I remove my KT tape? How long should it stay on?
Removing your KT tape requires zero supplies. Simply peel the tape along the skin (not straight out) to reduce any discomfort. Avoid excessive heat on the tape (like a hair dryer or maxed out heating pad) as this can melt the adhesive to your skin and cause some gnarly damage.
The longevity of your tape depends on a few factors like water exposure, sweating, friction from clothing/equipment, and use of any emollients like lotions. KT tape can last up to 5-7 days but can be removed as early as 24 hours after applications.

My pain increases with my home exercises. What should I do?
If you’re experiencing increased pain after doing your prescribed home exercises, stop these exercises immediately and reach out to your Moxie Rehab provider. While the aim of Moxie rehab is to provide you with tools for home to continue your progress, occasionally what once was helpful for our pain in office can sometimes irritate those same tissues once we get home. Reach out and we will do our best to provide you with new tools for home before your next visit!

How often do I need to come in for treatment?
It depends! If you’re struggling with an active injury, consistency is key. Our suggestion is to allow 4-6 visits to achieve significant progress. Sometimes you need less, sometimes you nee more. Care is tailored uniquely to YOU and based on how your body responds to care and what works best for your lifestyle and schedule.
